FISH CEVICHE Salvadoran Style

Join us at the beach here in El Salvador and share a bowl of Carlos´s World Famous & Top Secret Fish Ceviche Salvadoran Style!!! Fresh talapia, colored chilis, onion, a lot of limes, (and Carlos´s top secret ingredient) make up this fresh, healthy, inexpensive, and mouth wateringly delicious Salvadoran recipe!

 

Carlos´s Salvadoran Fish Ceviche Recipe –

Ingredients:

  • 2 Lbs Talapia
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper
  • 1 Orange Bell Pepper
  • 1 Yellow Bell Pepper
  • ½ Red Onion
  • â…“ White Onion
  • Many Limes
  • Dried Oregano
  • Salt

Directions:

  • Juice enough limes to cover the fish
  • Cut the fish in ½ inch by ½ inch cubes
  • Toss the fish in Salt and let sit for 15 minutes
  • Chop the Bell Peppers and Onions
  • Rinse the Salt off of the Fish with water and Drain
  • Cover the Fish in Lime Juice
  • Pour the Vegetables over the Fish and Lime Juice
  • Sprinkle with Oregano to taste
  • Cover and refrigerate around 30 minutes (until the fish is white)
  • Toss the Salvadoran Fish Ceviche and enjoy with Crackers and a Cold Beer

Left overs should be covered and refrigerated and will keep for up to a week (though I doubt you will have any left)
