Hi, I´m Carol – That Expat Mom!

15 years ago, I came to El Salvador to train at a dental insurance call center… and never left. I fell in love – with my now-husband Carlos, with this incredible country, and eventually with the family I was told I could never have. Now I help travelers and families like yours experience the real beauty of El Salvador – the way it changed my life forever.

I’ve lived here 15 years… but never put it to the test. So my family and I decided to try it! 🚗💨 We started with brunch at Finca Campo Bello’s Dos Alas Restaurant, overlooking Cerro Verde Volcano. Then we drove down to Sol y Luna Café, perched above the turquoise waters of Lago de Coatepeque. From there, it was off to San Salvador — with a quick “side quest” (my S22 Ultra bricked during a system update 😅), plus a stop at El Basurero Restaurante for a big bowl of sopa de patas. Finally, we made it to El Tunco Beach just in time for sunset — where, in the middle of the waves and golden light, Carlos and I had an impromptu beach wedding ceremony. 💍🌅✨ Four locations. One day. A total win. 🙌 But honestly? El Salvador deserves more than one day. Just because you can do it all at once, doesn’t mean you should. Every place here has so much to offer.
